Processing and the Dietary Guidelines: Meeting Nutrient Needs with Accessible Foods

Description: Meeting nutrient needs requires having access to nutritious food at most eating occasions. Consumers can meet their nutrient needs in a nutritious, satisfying way through a wide array of foods, but many are challenged to do so in an accessible, affordable, and convenient way. Plus, the way people eat has shifted, with more people eating on-the-go, so the challenge of preparing and consuming healthful meals and snacks is greater than ever before. In this webinar, our expert speakers will explore the recent and ongoing research on processed foods’ role in meeting dietary guidelines, the perceived benefits and challenges of convenience foods, and examples of how these foods can contribute to a healthy dietary pattern. You’ll receive actionable advice for helping your patients and clients better understand how accessible, convenient foods fit into their meal planning and to help them choose balanced meals on- the-go.
