Description: For many, caffeine is an integral part of day-to-day life, with roughly 85% of the U.S. population consuming at least one caffeinated beverage per day 1 . But despite caffeine having a usual place in most morning routines, there is still some confusion around its effects and benefits. How does caffeine actually work in the body? How much caffeine I am getting? What is the right amount of caffeine? How much caffeine is too much? Are there health benefits of caffeine? Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) play an important role in counseling patients on appropriate caffeine intake that fits within individual lifestyles. In this 75-minute webinar from PepsiCo Health & Nutrition Sciences (H&NS), join two caffeine experts as they provide an introduction to caffeine and its effects on health, review caffeine’s role in energy, and present insight on how caffeine is regulated in the U.S. This webinar will aim to:
1. Introduce the recent science of caffeine and its effects on energy and health
2. Review caffeine’s regulatory status, history, and safety
3. Provide guidance from a Registered Dietitian’s perspective on how to counsel patients on
appropriate caffeine intake
