Description: The Low FODMAP Diet* (LFD) is a therapeutic option for patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. This eating pattern can be challenging to maintain without the proper guidance of a credentialed healthcare professional (HCP). In 2021, many patients have been leaving the comforts of controlled environments and re-entering social situations where food choices can make it difficult to manage their conditions, making the help of HCPs more relevant than ever.

Join PepsiCo Health and Nutrition Sciences and leading experts in digestive health for a deeper dive into the LFD. Jessica Fitzpatrick, ADP of Monash University, the leading academic institution on the LFD, will provide an overview of the LFD with special emphasis on the reintroduction phase. Alyssa Lavy, MS, RD will share her expertise from clinical practice to help your patients navigate challenges encountered in the real world when following the LFD.

This event is for HCPs only and will aim to:

  • Provide an overview of the three phases of the Low FODMAP Diet*
  • Address common pitfalls of the diet and provide recommended ways for troubleshooting with patients/followers
  • Walk attendees through crowdsourced case studies to illustrate real-world challenges and solutions

 * Any dietary changes or restrictions should be considered as part of a healthy, balanced diet, and consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended. A low FODMAP diet does not treat a disease but may help to meet nutritional needs with reduced gastrointestinal symptoms.
